From helping to land a temporary job to providing clothing and a place to live. “We’re delivering food to people living under the bridges, abandoned buildings, out in the woods, and sleeping in cars.”

We also deal with health issues and with filing for stimulus, SS. SSDI, SSI, identity related issues such as driver's license, ID, Birth Certificates, etc.

"If a brother or sister has nothing to wear and no food for the day, and you say to them, "Good-bye and good luck! Keep warm and well fed," but do not meet their bodily needs, what good is that? So it is with the faith that does nothing in practice. It is thoroughly lifeless." — James 2:14-17

Hustling to aid people experiencing homelessness is not where Henry Lam saw himself. A few years ago, the 42-year-old father of two was a hard-charging businessman with stores selling gold and diamonds. His life was focused on money, but his chain of retail stores collapsed as he fell victim to fraud. Suicide seemed like the only escape.

“God was not in my life. And that day the Lord saved me and that’s when I came to know him,” said Henry, remembering the exact day—March 19, 2019.

And from that moment, it was like a light switch. Moved by the experience, he joined his wife and children in the faith and became Catholic at St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Atlanta GA.

“The Holy Spirit has kind of been with me ever since. And he has been guided me a certain way."

“If you told me, you’re going to give me back all the money that I lost from all the businesses, I wouldn’t trade any of that for where I’m at right now,” said Henry. “Somehow the Lord has given me something where I’m living the words of Christ each day. And that’s all I need.”

EBF has been distributing food to the needy since 2019.

“We got to know all the people in the streets, we know almost all of them by name. They all know us. That’s the love we need to give each other, our brothers and sisters out there,”

We seek to find those who are isolated from others. As trust grows, the goals grow beyond a daily plate of food–from helping to land a temporary job to providing clothing.

“For I was hungry...”

Our homeless brothers and sisters live in the elements with no food, shelter or clothing.

When I stop and think about them this Scripture always comes to my mind:

“For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, A stranger and you gave me no welcome, naked and you gave me no clothing, ill and in prison, and you did not care for me. What you did not do for one of these least ones, you did not do for me.” — Mt 25: 42-43,45

We give thanks to God for providing us with his love through abundant resources from friends, family, volunteers, nonprofit organizations and the Archdiocese of Atlanta.
